A bed head unit is the patient's direct services interface: it groups medical gas outlets, power sockets, lighting and nurse call into one organised unit above the bed, easing clinical work and reducing clutter around the patient.
What is it?
Configuration is defined by department type — inpatient, intensive care, emergency — the number of gases required, electrical circuits and data points. Gas and electrical routes are segregated inside the unit, and gas outlets are tested for gas identity and flow before handover.
