A medical air plant produces compressed air of medical quality to supply ventilators, anaesthesia machines and terminal units in critical areas, with full treatment for moisture, oil and particulates.

What is it?
The plant typically comprises two or more compressors in duty/standby rotation, a receiver, dryers, staged filtration, a duplex pressure regulation assembly, and a control panel with alarm signalling. Compressor number and capacity are selected so the plant still covers the design load with the largest unit out of service, per the approved project specification.
